To celebrate its four decades of existence and the evolution of the local telecommunications industry and its contribution to the socio-economic development of the nation, Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTC) is encouraging Batswana to submit artifacts. The artifacts would depict the generational communication technology and the history of telephony in Botswana.
“It will be a collection of antique telephones and telephone memorabilia amongst other artifacts to educate Batswana about the history of telecommunications for a greater appreciation and understanding of the role BTC has played in supporting local economic development,” BTC corporate communications and PR manager Golekanye Molapisi said.
The artifacts required are to be of telecommunication historic value and submissions can be made to any BTC store countrywide. Participants stand a chance to be rewarded for their submissions. The artifacts must comprise historical and technological inventions, which the company introduced in the past.
