Botswana is said to be stable and her citizens enjoying relative peace and security.
The Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr Tapudzani Gabolekwe said this yesterday (18/06/19) during a courtesy call paid to him by the United States of America (USA) Ambassador to Botswana His Excellency Mr Craig Cloud.
Mr Gabolekwe said Botswana Police Service (BPS), which has over 400 Police Posts and 80 Police Stations, has deployed officers throughout the country to maintain peace and protect life and property of the citizens.
The Acting Commissioner who was welcoming Mr Cloud said Botswana and the USA share strong bilateral relations more especially in areas of security.
He said the relations led to the establishment of the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) which has since trained over 15 000 participants from 34 African Countries which 1 499 were Batswana.
Mr Gabolekwe said training provided at the Academy has strengthened working relations and skills amongst law enforcement departments in Botswana and the region particularly in investigations of computer related crimes.
His Excellency Craig Cloud paid a visit to introduce himself to the Commissioner as he had just resumed the responsibilities of the Ambassador to Botswana in March this year.
