Magistrate Masilo Mathaka of Broadhurst Regional magistrate court has just ruled against the state. The state had submitted to him that they want Kgosi put under police custody until the issue of his warrant if the arrest is resolved.
Mathake, however, ruled that the warrant of arrest be suspended and Kgosi allowed to go, citing that Kgosi’s crime might be a serious one but not that serious. Kgosi was also ordered to surrender his passport.
The State has dragged the former DIS boss before the courts accusing him of contravening the DIS act by photographing DIS officials on duty and sending the pictures to the media for publication.
